Description

If the first field hockey book of this series "Hockey: A Philosophical Game" was written for general fans and the previous one "50 Tips from Intelligent Players" was targeted to players; this book "Tactical Dilemmas" is clearly addressed to coaches. A dilemma is a situation in which apparently you have to choose between two possibilities, both of them being, a priori, plausible and equally desirable. I decided to use the format of "dilemmas" in order to express the crucial value of tactical decisions: choices that we are in charge of making. In this book I have tried to empty all my current knowledge and experience. In the first person I often had to face these dilemmas and its consequences, for good or ill. Besides my reflections I will also share how we're facing these topics in Germany, where I'm coaching the men's team of Mannheimer HC.
