Searching for Truth I have been asked. "How did you choose the texts to support your beliefs?" This is just backwards. Belief should follow the emergence of truth from scripture. Only in the radiance of Jesus, the light of the world, can we glimpse the spiritual irradiance of God's words. In choosing systematic word studies as a guide, I explored the Bible anew. This book is the result. While caring for my bedfast husband, I spend the waiting times in this study. At different periods in our nearly sixty years of marriage, I have built houses, taught at summer camps while raising our two daughters, and worked for a college food service while studying. That BA degree was in Art and Biology. I am blessed that the disease that affects my husband's body has not prevented his mind from working. We can still confer and expand our Bible explorations. So many things can be found in one verse in the Bible. First is the up front, in your face, statements. Then the implied things such as in telling us to remember something, God implies we have forgotten Symbolism, such as a woman representing a church, helps unlock parables and prophesy. Each idea can be different but not in conflict. Coming out of Babylonian/Greek thinking allows more than one truth in a verse. God's new Covenant promise to write his laws on our hearts and minds, mean love and understanding of his laws. Any reference outside the Bible must meet the same tests as do Bible verses, all must be in biblical agreement before being acceptable as truth. The hardest part of this kind of study is laying aside what you think you know. This means admitting you do not know it all, very hard for human beings Humility allows understanding.
