2. The fundamentalism that romantic love is highly personal. Of course it is. What could be more intimately personal? But if evolution greatly influences human romance, then romantic love is also highly impersonal.
3. The fundamentalism that God or the universe has created one person with whom to mate. This is an obvious myth, but people don't act that way. If you don't let the one-and-only romantic fundamentalism get in the way, there are probably many other wonderful loves waiting for you.
4. The fundamentalism that your relationship is a failure if it doesn't last forever. Or, the only healthy and romantically acceptable relationship is one that lasts forever. If we continue to accept this view most of the population will have to consider themselves failures who are unfit for love. Don't.
