Penelope Bushtail was a typical little squirrel with a beautiful, fluffy tail. Penelope put all her confidence in her gorgeous tail that she forgot all about what's really important to others: Not what you look like, but how you treat others, and most important is how you value yourself, her inner squirrelly-attitude is what really mattered . Penelope was envied by all in squirrel school and even her closest friends noticed how she valued that gorgeous tail of hers and not their friendships. They plot a devious little squirrely plan in order to teach Penelope a lesson. Her friends knew that she was so busy thinking of herself, to see what they were up to, that they were positive Penelope wouldn't miss that fluffy tail of hers. Most times it takes true friends in order for one to realize just how special YOU really are on the inside, not just what your appearance is. Smart, caring squirrely friends soon realize Penelope wasn't as self-absorbed as they thought she was, in fact she turned out to be quite extraordinary after all. Penelope Bushtail teaches us the importance of finding and being your true self. No matter what your age is it's always a good lesson to remember that it's never too late to change your attitude and strive to be the best squirrel (person) you can be.

I was born in a small town: Chillicothe, Texas. I have always loved to read and Mom would place notes on stuffed animals and give them names growing up. I think that's where I noticed the fun in giving a 'voice' to make-believe things. I always wanted to entertain folks of all ages with what I could conjure up in my mind no matter how far-fetched it sounded. I love chocolate, coffee and cats (and anything/everything Pink). My three "C's" as I call them and you can bet most of them are in my books, if not all of them. I work in a library, I've always worked, and or volunteered in libraries-it's who I am. And yes, we have a library cat, named Charlotte. My cat, Daphne Daici, who I lovingly refer to as "Baby," she's my inspiration in all my books, she's my little soulmate.
