The world is in love with Mixed Martial Arts.
After the explosive growth of the sport in the United States in 2005, and the dominance of heavyweight and middleweight MMA in Japan in the early 2000s, mixed martial arts has grown steadily in profile and notoriety, till the present day, when every week sees at least 2-3 fight cards across the world that are of very high quality.
We did not get here without great sacrifices from the founding fathers of the sport; these pioneers shed brain cells, and fought for relatively low purses so that the sport could go mainstream.
