Description

The journey from a poor starving boy in Communist China to finally becoming an elite physician in the US was a hard and long journey. What made this journey successful, so I was finally made "elite" by patients? What can I teach youngsters, so they'll be successful in the future? This book tells them my life-story including successes, failures, principles and personal philosophies that happened along the way to build 57 teachings that made my final goal come true.
These 57 teachings (advice) are from episodes of my life experiences in starving childhood in China, the sufferings of patients in Hong Kong that shaped my goal of a lifetime, and the fun with climbing mountains, and in the warm sea of Hong Kong. And in US, tips including memory techniques for intensive studies in college years with fulltime day job, and medical schools' fun in learning, and clinical and research settings and medical centers in NY and California where I raced with dolphins in San Francisco Bay in my sailboat. It was also in California that a hiker was made going backwards for one and a half hour by a mountain lioness. The lioness ran away when he threw a stone, why? Through thick and thin, these teachings guided my ways. These teachings brought me the successful life just said. It will benefit youngsters.
Incorporating these as teenagers grow, would most likely make them elites in the future.
So, this is a story of toughing it out to succeed. This is also a story of careful clinical detective works to find the complete cure of cancers with cure rate close to 100% vs conventional of 70%. It sounded profound but it is not.
In the end, I think preventions and cures of cancers are plainly simple. It is easy for everyone who read this book to do. Readers will probably all agree with this at the end of this book. It is easy to believe the miracle-like, yet simple things to keep cancers out of our life. Believers will probably turn saviors for half a billion people in the world who will die of recurrent cancers unless saved by our readers and their computers or cell phones. The book will explain why that is.
The above sounds dry and academic. But it is anything but. The story begins with our enviable life when I was 1 to 4 years old. But due to the Communist revolution in China in 1949, we were made poor overnight and treated like animals under the communist regime. The many sad events will make men with iron hearts cry. Then how we narrowly escaped a certain death with my smart mom saving us all. We escaped to Hong Kong. Few years prior, our father had the Communist army's bullets flying over his head, and escaped to Hong Kong, and quickly left for Cuba, a capitalist nation then.
Among that chaos, hardships, starvations, walking 10 miles a day in the bustling city of Hong Kong to go to high school, rain or shine, my spirit prevailed.
Finally, through observations in my internal medicine years, when some resident doctors died falling asleep in their cars due to fatigue from over-working due to new HIV diseases, but the observations gave me the hint cancer starts when our immune system is weak as in AIDS patients. The rest of my medical oncology (cancer specialist doctor) career was the proving ground for theory of restoring the immune system beating cancers, meeting my goal of curing curable cancers 100% vs only 70%. The 30% life-lost was due to cancers coming back, which this book tells the ways to prevent cancers from coming back in the real world. That was the final goal I met. But I did not dare to believe it till Nostradamus from the Balkans woke me up and said, yes, cancer is cured 100%. The last chapter summarized the clinical detective story. And the next to last chapters list all 57 teachings with explanations for easy reference.
I think readers will cry first, then get excited and laugh later.
