A grotesquely tattooed figure stalks the academy's perimeter. Curious machines appear with disturbing consequences. And, after a cataclysmic fire, Eddie and Izzy are forced to flee into the wild wastes beyond the Bureau's control. Through trash-veiled forests and perilous electric cities, Eddie and Izzy seek the truth of their past.
